Honest Friend is an emerging brewery in Columbus, Ohio. I serve as a founder and the creative director. Our mission is to celebrate and promote creativity. We do this by emphasizing the inherent creativity behind making beer, hosting artistic events and supporting local makers, and making an illustrated brand that exists across digital and physical platforms.
I am behind all of the brand art and design. I coordinate with others to create all surrounding products and content.

Fabric of Space-Time uses fashion to connect people to theories of quantum gravity. It was done in collaboration with physicist Gabriela Barreto Lemos. Three collections of clothing display three competing theories of quantum gravity. Participants are asked to choose the style they identify with. Gabi and I act as quantum stylists, and through dialogue around the clothes, we help people understand the underlying scientific theory and cultural history. Visit the website.

At Figment Festival, my sister and brother were quantum ambassadors, sporting shirts with different theories and recruiting people to come see the display.
Lucianne Walkowicz was a guest quantum stylist at Maker Faire in NYC, 2018. Here, they help a hologram man decide his preferred style.
The fabulous FoST branding, done by Danielle Deley.
Emma Low photographed models as they emulated the characteristics of each style. Here Mika Chislett models Causal Sets.
I designed t-shirts to represent each theory, and we photographed them in their element. Here is my brother wearing string theory.
My friend Lucianne Walkowicz and I created arbitrary systems to categorize information. We started with collages, then used a fibonacci-style internet search, plus Markov chains to create nonsensical sentences. Then, I animated the collages and we read the sentences alongside them as a performance. We also printed a zine.

In an attempt to increase public engagement with outer space, Len invents a system that matches people to stars by translating their DNA into star characteristics. Telestellar catches on, and becomes much more potent than Len ever could've imagined. Read the full story.
Telestellar was my MFA thesis at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. It uses multimedia storytelling.

Transelemental uses chemistry in an attempt to study language as it functions in space and in writing. How does energy affect words? How do they break apart as they careen through a room?

Caffeinizer epitomizes our dependence on coffee while we work by providing a tie with a coffeemaker embedded within. Sensors read the pulse of the user and trigger Caffeinizer to brew coffee when the pulse reaches a certain low.
During the show, I wore Caffeinizer and participants touched the sensor on my wrist so that Caffeinizer could make coffee for them.
True performance art is when you engage people while steam is burning your face and you know the device strapped to your chest might catch fire at any minute.

Caffeinizer was made using a sensor that read your pulse and would activate a hacked coffeemaker to begin making coffee if the pulse was below a certain rate.
